DIY reflectors
« on: November 16, 2011, 05:59:30 »
  • A few years back we did a group buy on DIY reflectors that I cut out and put together. They are built like lumenarch’s but sized between their standard sizes. Mine come out at 16.5” x 16.5”I am not sure on the price as of right now as we are looking into the cost of the supplies to build them.  I would guess they will be $50 - $75 each (compared to a lumenarch $150 ) I will know more in the next few days. Right now I am really just looking to see how many people would be interested in them.

I will get a picture of the ones I have installed tonight when I get home for those of you who have not see my setup or Hungers.

I am waiting on a price on material right now. I am hoping less than $50 but with the price of everything going up I don't know.

15 -25 yr warranty on their product... is that standard in the field? and what would it cover? the coating?

That is the place that supplies lumenarch with their material. The problem is they are in canada so I think shipping would be rather high. I am hoping to hear back from them tomorrow.

Is there a standard size or can you build different sizes and can they be made for DE fixtures? I have an old Odessyea hood that I did a retro fit on but the reflectors are crap.

Right now I am guessing $65-70 each if we use lumenarc material. I am still waiting on 1 more quote.

What do you guys think? the price will also depend on how many we make. I think we will get a price break if make more.

Even at $70, full size lumenarc's are 139.99 so thar is still a good savings.
